The research activities of Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research on the innovative area of "Science of Hybrid Quantum Systems" were introduced in an open-house workshop at the National Institute of Informatics (NII) on May 27.The workshop began with a lecture by Prof. Hirayama. The participants discussed the benefits of exploringe the science of the quantum hybridization of different physical quantities. The simple description of "quantum characteristic" and the application of quantum hybridization, including its prospects, seemed to attract the interest of many people in the audiences.
The representative of the theory group, Prof. Nemoto, talked about the importance of taking a theoretical approach to hybrid quantum systems.Professors from experimental groups introduced exciting topics in their own fields, which stimulated the curiosity of the audiences. The members of a panel discussed the new physics of quantum systems, which led to a lively discussion.
The room was filled with more than 100 attendees. Many researchers seemed to be interested in "hybrid quantum systems" and were excited about our activities.
